Senior Software Developer

Are you a Software Developer that wants to work with top professional sports teams, entertainment and sold-out music venues or want be a part of something unlike anything else?

Stark RFID is looking for a Senior Software Developer to join our dynamic team. Our engaging client list is diverse and unique including the Baltimore Ravens, College Football Hall of Fame, Microsoft, PGA TOUR, and Summer Camp Music Festival just to name a few. Several of our clients have won awards for outstanding achievements in customized interactive projects driven by Stark RFID technology. Our enterprise-level customized solutions use RFID systems and enabled assets that provide access control, asset tracking, key business analytics, and real-time tracking systems. A fun fact about us... using our RFID enabled wristbands, Stark RFID helped facilitate the Guinness World Record for the “Largest Gathering of Zombies” at the 2012 Zombie Pub Crawl in Minneapolis, MN.

Who we need

A Senior Software Developer who is self starting and results driven. You can handle responsibilities with sometimes little detail and are comfortable working in a small team. This position will offer the right person the opportunity to gain exposure and learn numerous technologies and architectures in a progressive and inventive environment.

 

SENIOR DEVELOPER musts

You will report to our Principal Software Engineer, sport a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or something similar, and bring with you 8-10 years of software development experience. While you're here, you will be responsible for:

  knowing projects from top to bottom

  working on multiple projects simultaneously

  translating ambiguous business goals into working software solutions

  participating in initial design and tactical strategy

  supporting our existing projects through maintenance and development of new features

  mentoring Junior Developers and leading by example

 

What you need

Our Developers know, use, and have:

  a working understanding of modern languages and design techniques in one or more of the following areas:

  C# and the Microsoft .NET Framework

  Java-based Android development

  HTML5 based web development

  familiarity with integrated development environments, source code control systems, and other development tools

  an understanding of relational database concepts and basic SQL syntax

  reliable communication and documentation skills that can be used to share technical concepts to a non-technical audience

  the ability to work as part of a team to develop large and complex software features

  a willingness to travel to client sites and events on a limited basis (We see these as free perks of the job.)

 

What we like

  Previous involvement with RFID, NFC, UHF, and QR Codes

  The talent to identify and analyze bugs and issues, propose solutions, anticipate future obstacles, define action plans, and implement solutions

  The ability to interact with Business Analysts and/or end users to gather and analyze technical requirements

  An understanding of web services development and service oriented architecture

  User-centric design experience with the proven ability to develop web interfaces using CSS, JavaScript, and HTML

  Test-Driven and agile development experience

  Microsoft SQL Server basic administration tasks, SQL Server security model, and basic data modeling principles

JUNIOR DEVELOPER musts

Reporting to your team lead or our Principal Software Engineer, you will showcase your Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field, plus 3 or more years of software development experience, and be responsible for:

 writing clean, concise code

 demonstrating commitment to continuous learning

 participating in new application development

 supporting our existing projects through maintenance and development of new features

 chipping in on things that have nothing to do with your current project

 

What you need

Our Developers know, use, and have:
